"Not many patrons when we arrived for dinner, so I was a bit apprehensive about eating here. We were pleasantly surprised with how good the food was. Other than salads, everything is fried, which I dont typically eat, but it was all very light and tasty. Service was fairly quick, not overly friendly waitstaff, but it was ok."

"Excellent service, very tasty food and a unique atmosphere makes for a fun and enjoyable restaurant experience. Fried catfish, chicken and shrimp were all incredible as were the pot of greens and the skillet cornbread. My only complaints would be the prices are a bit high and you really need pure butter for that hot cornbread. Also, I loved the plates, cups and pots that you eat from, very unique."

"We stop in everytime were in Nashville. The ice cold tin cups & pickled onions are the best! Food was great too. Hubby had catfish & I had the Ribeye & brocolli Ribeye was better than most steakhouses. Ill add tge ranch dressing on my salad was good too."

"We had a big party come and Alex took great care of us. It was a great meal, we got the sampler. Alex kept our drinks full and remembered all of our orders and flip our corn bread, the highest flip we've seen. The hostess was very welcoming and our food was great. I like how they serve the fixings (sides) in pots. It makes for an intimate meal. We had a good time. Cock of the Walk is one of the few restaurants that's been around. Alot if history there. Go see them!"

"The reviews seemed to be all over the place about this restaurant. I had a cousin that ate here several years ago and enjoyed it and recommended that we stop by. We are so glad we stopped and ate lunch at this restaurant. It is a little pricey but the food is wonderful and the serving size is plentiful. We shared the full catfish plate that came with 4 filets, ample fries, bucket of coleslaw, couple of hush puppies and water. We also ordered the pot of mustard greens for 2-3 people.. The skillet cornbread was wonderful. Joseph was a wonderful waiter and he flipped that cornbread 8-10 times and landed it perfectly back in the skillet. We had a great experience!"

"I'm so sad this place closed. It's been a go to for our family since I was young in the 80's. Seems management changed or gave up on caring? I don't know, but all I do know if I will always have the best memories of the pond out front, the GIANT rocking chair inside, and the servers flipping cornbread up into the air out of a cast iron skillet and somehow, always catch it. Not to mention the amazing slaw, pickled onions, fried pickles, those aluminum cups with the handle, etc. So many good things used to happen in those wooden halls and rooms."
